Family loses three-year-old child after falling into cesspit

A family in the Igando area of Lagos is in mourning after losing a three-year-old boy in avoidable circumstances. The child fell inside a cesspit that was left open.
The spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin who confirmed the incident, however, did not state if anyone would be arrested for manslaughter.
He quoted a section of the law that stipulated, “Involuntary Manslaughter. A person who unlawfully kills another in circumstances which does not constitute murder is guilty of manslaughter if he causes death by an unlawful and dangerous act; or with gross negligence or reckless disregard for human life.
