Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin has warned the End Bad Governance in Nigeria protesters that they should not test the police resolve.

The comment followed the protesters that they will go to the streets and the Lagos State’s government house in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos on Monday.
The protesters on Thursday August 1, 2024 converged in Ojota, Lagos for the protest they tagged ‘Day of Rage’ but on the third day of the protest, they resolved to take the protest to the streets in Lagos and the government house to speak to authorities and draw their attention to the plight of the people.
Some of the demands of the protesters include the restoration of petrol subsidies and the forex regime. They also want the government to strengthen security to end banditry, address food shortages, unemployment and wasteful spending by those in power.

They want reforms of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), the Economic and Financial Commission (EFCC) and others.
Director of Mobilisation of Take It Back Movement, a non-governmental organisation, Damilare Adenola, had said that the protest wi continue till President Bola Tinubu addresses Nigerians demands.
He said the protests have shown Nigerians they can hold their leaders accountable.
Adenola said if the Federal Government is sincere and concerned with the plights of the people, the President would have addressed the demands of the protesters by now.

“We are waiting for the government to respond to us and address our demands. And until then, the protests continue,” he said, adding that though the demands of protesters have not been addressed, a statement has been made to the government of the day.
Legal practitioner, Barrister JP, had said: “We want to go and tell the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu that we are suffering and we don’t want to suffer like this anymore.

Reacting to the reports of protesters hitting the streets, Hundeyin who took to X, wrote: “Be law abiding. We will be courteous but firm, very firm. Do not test our resolve.
