Flag bearer of the Labour Party(LP) in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi has reportedly ended his months of bromance with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.
This is coming hours ex-Vice President, Atiku Abubakar indicated that he will drop out of the 2027 race for any candidate but will support if any younger candidate picks the party’s ticket.
The ex-Anambra State governor was said to have made it clear that he intends to run as a presidential candidate in 2027—not as a running mate.
Obi reportedly revealed his decision during a private meeting with select supporters in Lagos.
He cited the ADC’s refusal to zone its 2027 presidential ticket to the South as a major reason for pulling out.
It’s being speculated that he might lace his political boots with AA.
