*Family claimed none-interest in case, says Lagos PPRO
An alleged number one man of Buccaneers in Surulere, Adedipe Adeyinkan popular called Agali has been killed in Iponri, Surulere, Lagos.
The cult leader known as Yinka Agali, was killed on Saturday night, April 11, 2026.
Agali was said to be the biggest, most feared, and most influential figure in the Buccaneers cult in Surulere. He was described as nice, friendly, rich, very influential, rugged, and also feared in the area.
Agali as indicated by videos posted on Instagram also worked for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Reports indicate that Agali was said to be supporting a female candidate in the upcoming election, as opposed to a popular male incumbent candidate in Surulere, and was on the opposing APC side.
According to Naijaconfrat, Buccaneers have confirmed that a particular rival cult group was used to carry out the attack and many attributed Agali’s death to politics.
Agali, whose axis was in the Shitta/Akere area, was reportedly shot while driving his car in the Iponri area.
It was said that tension is extremely high, as Buccaneers are planning chaos against the rival group they mentioned and are also vowing violence in the upcoming elections.

Responding to The Guardian enquiry, Spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, said that a gun shot was heard on top of National Stadium Bridge inwards Iponri on April 11, 2026 at about 11:30.p.m, and, as a result patrol team of Surulere Division moved to the scene where Agali was found in the pool of his blood as a result of the gun shot inside an unregistered white GLE 350 Mercedes Benz.
The Police PRO said that he was immediately rushed down to Mainland General Hospital Yaba where he was confirmed dead by the doctor and he was deposited at their morgue for autopsy purposes.
Adebisi told The Guardian that the perpetrators abandoned their unregistered Edge Ford Jeep, black color and escaped through another car.
She said that the two vehicles were removed to the station. While effort is in progress to arrest the flee suspects.
“The family has come for the corpse, they said they’re not interested in having a case.”
MEANWHILE, The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the robbery of job seekers in the Magodo area of Lagos during interviews.
The job seekers had claimed that they were robbed of their phones.
The Lagos State Command said the case was reported on April 9, 2026 and one suspect is currently in Police custody, while efforts are ongoing to arrest other fleeing suspects and bring all those involved to justice.
The Command, said: “Members of the public are advised to be cautious of fraudulent online job offers and to always verify the authenticity of such offers.”
