Tinubu’s U.S. City Boy Movement Coordinator, Salako, Sentenced To 18 Months’ For fraud

Adepoju Babatunde Salako, a 33-year-old Nigerian man residing in Philadelphia and reportedly serving as the U.S. City Boy Movement campaign coordinator for President Bola Tinubu, has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for his role in a wire fraud scheme targeting Alaska’s 2022 Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) program.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Salako pleaded guilty to seven counts of wire fraud in the District of Alaska. The scheme involved fraudulent applications submitted to the Alaska Department of Revenue, with the intent to defraud the state and victims of approximately $22,988.
The 18-month sentence will run concurrently with a separate, much longer term Salako received earlier in 2026 in the District of Colorado. In that case, he was sentenced to 78 months (six and a half years) in federal prison after pleading guilty to wire fraud conspiracy and money laundering conspiracy related to a large-scale COVID-19 relief fraud operation.

In the Colorado case, Salako and co-conspirators were accused of using over 1,000 stolen or fictitious identities to fraudulently obtain more than $5.6 million in Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL), and unemployment insurance benefits across more than 30 states. He was ordered to pay over $2.5 million in restitution.

News of Salako’s Alaska sentencing spread rapidly on social media on Saturday, May 23, 2026, with users highlighting his alleged political ties to the “City Boy Movement,” a pro-Tinubu support group. Several posts identified him as the coordinator for the Philadelphia chapter.
