INEC Declares Aiyedatiwa Winner Of Ondo Guber Poll As Vote Buying Mars Poll

Incumbent Governor of Ondo State and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has won the 2024 gubernatorial election.

He was declared winner, Sunday afternoon, by the State Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Olayemi Rotimi Akinwumi, who is also the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State,

Prof. Akinwumi who pronounced Aiyedatiwa winner and returned elected at 2.29p.m., said the governor polled. 366781 votes to beat Agboola Ajayi, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, who scored 117845 votes, to second position.

Candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Olorunfemi Ayodele Festus, who was reinstated as a last-minute substitute by a court order Thursday, scored 1162.

INEC declared AIyedatiwa winner in all the 18 local government areas in the state

The declaration of Aiyedatiwa triggered spontaneous jubilation at his campaign as loyalists burst into singing and dancing.

The election was conducted on Saturday, November 16, 2024.
