FG Approves New University, Police Academy For Akwa Ibom State

Two educational institutions have been approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

According to reports, a new Police Academy in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State and a Federal University of Agriculture will be located in Obio Akpa, Oruk Anam Local Council Area.

This development follows the passage of the university’s establishment into law, awaiting President Bola Tinubu’s assent.

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio shared the news during a luncheon in Abuja, where he hosted Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, along with other political stakeholders.

Akpabio emphasized the need for peace and unity among Akwa Ibom politicians, revealing that he has reconciled with former Governor Udom Emmanuel after nine years of political differences.

Their handshake during the Villa meeting, he said, marked a step towards lasting harmony.

Governor Eno expressed delight and praised the cooperation among the state’s politicians, urging continued collaboration for development.

Former Petroleum Minister Atuekong Don Etiebet also commended the unity, describing it as unprecedented in his decades-long political career.

The delegation had earlier met with President Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa.
