Ondo State Governor Allocates N775 Million For Gate Renovation, N1.2billion For VIP Lodge

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, is facing heavy criticism following the leak of confidential government documents online.

The leaked documents reveal that N775 million was allocated for only the renovation of the main gate and perimeter fence of the Government House. Additionally, a whopping N1.2 billion was allocated for furnishing the VIP Lodge within the Government House grounds.
The documents also show that N90 million was set aside for the renovation of the office of the State Commissioner for Finance. The State House of Assembly had recently invited the Finance Commissioner for questioning over misappropriation of funds but refused to appear before the lawmakers.
Moreover, N293 million was allocated for the rehabilitation of the Adegbemile Cultural Centre in Akure, a move that has drawn criticism for its timing and prioritization.

This revelation comes at a time when residents of Ondo State are dealing with widespread hardship. Many roads across the state remain in a state of disrepair, hospitals are underfunded and poorly equipped, and a significant portion of the population is grappling with rising hunger and poverty.
The leak has also intensified calls for the governor to address the ongoing economic challenges facing the state instead of focusing on costly renovations and projects of questionable necessity.
Until the time of filing this report, the Governor’s media team has yet to issue a formal statement addressing the leaked documents or the growing public outcry.
