A young woman, Damilola Adisa, and her siblings have appealed to Nigerians and relevant authorities for help, alleging intimidation, threats, and an attempt to forcefully take over their late father’s property in Ibafo, Ogun State.
Adisa, who hails from Osun State but was raised in Ibafo, recounted a series of tragedies that left her and her siblings orphaned at a young age.
According to her, their mother died in 2012, while their father was brutally murdered in 2015 after being lured out by unknown assailants.
She alleged that her father’s killers smashed his head with a sledgehammer, leaving the family devastated and struggling to survive without parental support.
The family’s only inheritance, she said, is a piece of land located at No. 10 Surakatu Okunola Street, Mogede, Qwara Quarters, Ibafo, Ogun State, where their late father built a house and was buried.
According to her, despite the deteriorating condition of the house due to flooding, the siblings refused several offers to sell the property, insisting that it holds sentimental value because it serves as their father’s final resting place.
She claimed that sometime last year, unidentified individuals approached them with an offer of N2.5 million for the land, but the family rejected the proposal.
Trouble, she said, started in April this year(2026) when a witness alerted them that unknown persons had entered the property. On arriving at the site, she and her sister allegedly found workers digging a foundation on the land and demolishing part of their father’s burial ground.
She alleged that a man identified as Mr. Najeem Osolanke claimed ownership of the property and supervised the activities on the site.
The matter was subsequently reported to the police, leading to the arrest of the suspect after what she described as a police operation days before the Ileya festival.

She alleged that while in police custody, the suspect openly threatened her and her siblings, vowing to harm them and take possession of the property.
She expressed shock that the suspect was later released on the directive of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ibafo Police Station without signing any undertaking, despite the alleged threats.
The siblings later petitioned Zone 2 Police Command for intervention after losing confidence in the handling of the matter at the divisional level.
According to Damilola, tensions escalated on June 10 when police officers allegedly arrived at her residence and attempted to compel her to accompany them to the station. She claimed the officers seized her phone and refused to return it immediately, raising fears about their intentions.
She further alleged that officers returned on subsequent occasions, banging on doors and insisting on arresting her and her siblings.
Fearing for their safety, Damilola said the family fled their residence and is currently in hiding at an undisclosed location.
“We are orphans. We don’t have anybody. We are scared for our lives. We don’t want to die the way our father died. We are pleading with Nigerians and the authorities to help us,” she said.
The allegations have yet to receive an official response from the Ogun State Police Command or the individuals accused by the family.
The siblings are calling on relevant authorities, human rights organizations, and members of the public to intervene and ensure their safety while the dispute over the property is resolved through lawful means.
The Investigating Police Officer (IPO) handling the controversial land dispute involving orphaned siblings in Ibafo, Ogun State, has declined to comment on the matter.
When contacted for clarification regarding allegations of unlawful release of a suspect, intimidation, and the ongoing dispute over a family property, Spokesperson for The Ogun State Police Command, Babaseyi Oluseyi, said: “On May 23, 2026, one Adisa Damilola reported that Nojeem Solanke allegedly damaged her late father’s grave at Mogede Village, Ibafo, and carted away building materials (granite, iron rods, and blocks) valued at N2,750,000, allegedly used to build a structure within the area. She also alleged the suspect threatened to kill her when confronted.
The case was under investigation. The suspect was arrested, an eyewitness made a statement and the scene was visited.
The case was later transferred to SCID, Eleweran, Abeokuta, following a petition to the Commissioner of Police.
The complainant was requested for interview at SCID but declined despite several efforts to secure her attendance.”
