Police arrest three for beating female employee accused of stealing

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three men for flogging a lady in Lagos Market.
The trio, 47-year-old Chinedu Stanley; 29-year-old Chibuike Igboke and 27-year-old Richard Christopher Jimmy, were videotaped beating an employee of Don Maserati Classic Boutique on Lagos Island.
It was alleged that the employee stole unspecified goods from her employer on Saturday and the owner allegedly ordered that she should be flogged.
In an 18 seconds video, the lady believed to be in her 20s was seen on the floor begging the three men flogging her as they took turns.
The video drew the attention of netizens who called on the police to investigate and prosecute everyone involved.
Following complaints, the men were arrested by the state Police Command
The Command said: “Three suspects have been arrested, while efforts are on to apprehend other suspects and establish contact with the victim.


The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Ishola, while commending Nigerians for promptly alerting the police to the situation, assures them of the ever-readiness of the Command to respond quickly and appropriately to situations towards ensuring the safety and security of residents and visitors to Lagos State. He assures Lagosians that justice will be served.
The Police did not ever speak on the owner of the boutique who allegedly gave the order but said it’s still investigating the matter.
