Nigerian journalist and publisher of Media Room Hub Azuka Ogujiuba has narrated her ordeal in the hands of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) after honoring the police invitation.
The NPF, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Investigating Unit had in a letter dated June 17, 2025 and signed by Moses Jolugbo of the IGP Special Investigation Unit stated that the office was investigating a case, in which her name featured prominently and
the need to obtain certain clarification from her become imperative.

She was requested to interview the undersigned on Tuesday July 22, 2025 by 11.a.m at IGP Special Investigation Unit, opposite Police Force Headquarters, Abuja.
It added that the invitation was compelled by the law enforcement requirement as provided for in section 53 (2) of the Administration Criminal Justice Act, 2025.
Agujiuba ordeal started when she published a court order on her platform, Media Room Hub.
Years ago, Capital Gardens bought four hectares of land from Oretol Nigeria Limited belonging to one Adewale Oladapo, aka Biggie but years later, Oretol Nigeria Limited turned around four years later to approach Capital Gardens that it’s no longer selling and the case was taken to court.
The Lagos State High Court on March 25, 2025 gave an order that the parties should not deal with the property until the case is finally determined. The court asked that publications should be made to warn the public and Ogujiuba’s Media Room published the court order.

Speaking in GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, her lawyer, Kehinde Ebitanmi, said: “An invitation was sent by the Nigeria Police demanding her to show up but the day was not convenient for her and we responded on her behalf and gave the Police a date she would be present. She honoured the invitation on August 6, 2025 and flew to Abuja from Lagos. She went there in the company of a legal practitioner so, the police acted well because of the presence of the legal counsel, and they let her go, granting her bail and the bail was perfected. On August 8, 2025, the Nigeria Police in a gangster manner, evaded her space and whisked her away like a criminal, injured her in the process. No warrant of arrest was issued. She made several attempts to reach out to her lawyer but they refused, denying her, her fundamental human rights.
After she was released after three days in the confine of the Police and returned to Lagos but they are still after her.

The scenario has shown the abuse of Police power. The police was created to protest lives and property but they have acted in the opposite of why they were created.“
“Azuka is being made to suffer for what she knows nothing about, she only did her job in forming the public.”

Speaking also, Ogujiuba said: “Police officers surrounded like a kidnapper, beat me up and injured me. After the police detained me for three days, they made me an apology letter, the Nigeria Police determined what to write. They said I must write that what I published was fake, and immediately it was posted, they screenshotted it on Media Room Hub on Instagram and used it as advert on Instablog. A police officer by the name, Ifeoma Ogoli made me do an undertaken that the letter was not done under duress. They took the letter to other media houses for publication.

“I found out that the same court order is still on other Instagram pages so, I don’t understand why he’s after me.”
