Ex-Lagos Police spokesman battling kidney disease, needs N25m for transplant

A former Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Chike Oti, has begged Nigerians to come to his aid after he was diagnosed of kidney disease.
Oti yesterday appealed to Nigerians for N25 million assistance to enable him to undergo a kidney transplant.
According to Oti, he was diagnosed with fifth-stage renal failure also known as end-stage renal disease in Lagos State.
Otti said he has been informed by the doctors that his only hope of surviving is for a kidney transplant.
While stating that he has spent so much money on his own, the police officer said the cost of staying alive is currently above his means.
“My dear brothers and sisters, my name is Chike Godwin Oti, recently transferred as ACP DFA, Railway Police Command, Ebutte Meta, Lagos.
“I wish to inform you that I was recently diagnosed with fifth-stage renal failure, also known as an end-stage renal disease (kidney failure) occasioned by unmitigated high blood pressure at Lagoon Hospital, Bourdillion Street, Ikoyi, Lagos.
“It is recommended that my only chance to stay alive is that I must undergo hemodialysis twice a week until I can raise the sum of N25 million for a kidney transplant.


“On my own, I have spent about N3.5 million for the one week I spent at the aforementioned hospital.
“The cost of keeping alive is way beyond my means right now. I, therefore, seek your help dear brothers and sisters to surmount this terrible illness.
