UNILAG lecturer allegedly sexually assaults female student

*School promises justice

A lecturer in the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Dr. Samuel Ojogbo, has allegedly have forceful canal knowledge of 20-year-old female student of the school.
Sources claimed that the student (name withheld), a 300-level student of the university, reported the matter to the police on Aug. 28, 2025.
She alleged that on August 22, 2025, at about 12.p.m, her lecturer, Dr. Ojogbo, invited her into his office at the university and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
The source said that she was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
MEANWHILE, UNILAG management said it’s aware of the allegation of sexual impropriety made by a student of the University against the academic member of staff.
The school told The Guardian that the matter has been reported to the appropriate police authorities, and the University’s Safeguarding Centre is also providing support to the student.
The University reiterates a zero-tolerance stance for all forms of sexual harassment.
Head, Communication Unit, University of Lagos Management, Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, said in addition, a university panel has begun investigating the allegation, and findings will be communicated through appropriate channels upon completion.
“The public is hereby assured that the University will conduct a thorough investigation, and ensure justice to all involved.”


“Students and other members of the university community are encouraged to report any form of harassment or misconduct through designated offices.

The month of September is designated Domestic and Sexual Violence Awareness Month in Lagos State and the penalty for such offence as stipulated by the Criminal Law of Lagos State and other laws include life imprisonment for rape and sexual assault by penetration, 14 years for attempted rape, and a maximum of 3 years for sexual harassment.
