Greeted by 10 Yoruba Cultural performers at the entrance and welcomed into the red carpet arena by 9 Igbo Cultural performers, guests at Aso Ebi Diaries, a movie by Laide Daramola, on April 116, 2025, were charmed by the beauty, songs, best of Nigerian colours and glamour at the venue of the movie premiere.
Indeed, it was a night of glamour and glitziness at Jewel Aeida, the event venue, where top Nollywood stars, socialites, and partygoers all gathered for the official premiere of the movie.
Clad in a custom-made outfit by Shadiat Aso Oke, jewellery by the Coral Factory, and a purse by Pink Perfection Accessories, the producer, Laide Daramola stole the night with her fashion style, as Nancy Isime, Kunle Remi, Shaffy Bello, Bukunmi Adeaga also dazzled.
The 120-minute duration film distributed by Cinemax Nigeria Limited opens across cinemas in Nigeria and Ghana on Friday, April 18, 2025, with the exciting celebration of culture, love, unity, fashion, good music, friendship, and family.
The movie features Shaffy Bello, Bukky Wright, Nancy Isime, Kunle Remi, Chizzy Alichi, Bukunmi ‘KieKie’ Adeaga-Ilori, Daniel Etim Effiong, Daniel Lloyd, Kalu Ikeagwu, Queen Salawa Abeni, and others.

“I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, USA and moved to Nigeria in 2007 and it allowed me to meet new friends and I got friends that like to party, hence, the story was born.
“Nigerians will see themselves in one of the characters.
When asked about the challenges, she said: “Costuming was a huge challenge; from big parties scenes, 1000 extra and we sewed for everyone and we started shooting when Dollar went up.
Also speaking, Kunle Remi said: “I am very excited about the movie. Nigerians are conversant with Aso Ebi so, for a movie like this, every Nigerian will love to see what it looks like. It tells the stories of the struggle in getting Aso Ebi, the event and others.”
