In a carnival-like event, and his quest to sustain the tempo,  Chairman, Ikale East Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Olajide Akinfe, has hosted his ward (Ajagba 2 ward 2)’s meeting, where he canvassed 100% votes, for the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa ahead of the November 16, 2024, Gubernatorial poll.

The Council Chief, who was accompanied by the Supervisor for Works and Transportation, Omosugba Olatunde, Elder Joseph Babatunde, and others, was welcomed by the women of the All Progressive Congress (APC), led by the women leader, Taye Earnest, and former woman supervisor, Maria Olowoyeye, in a perky atmosphere, diffused with the divinely composed lyrical Mabaja, amidst pop and pageantry.

In his speech, after the ward chairman had opened the floor, Akinfe, thanked the entire ward leaders and members, for their continued support, charged the people to continuously pray for the state’s Governor, for the privilege to have produced the first Chairman of the LCDA (from the ward), emphasising the need to reward him, come November 16, with massive votes; in line with the popular aphorism that, when a child shows gratitude for yesterday, there is an assurance, for another good time.

Reacting on behalf of all the leaders,  Stephen Akinmuda, Lawson Omotunde, Victor Akinfe, High Chief Ojo Arowojolu, and     Taiwo Earnest, all spoke in unison with the Chairman, emphasising the need for unity among the people, declaring 99% vote as unacceptable, as they posited, it is going to be “what are you”, this time around, as done under former Governor Olusegun Mimiko’s administration; where the number of votes a unit has, will determine the dividends going there, as Governor Aiyedatiwa, will definitely cruise to victory with a landslide, come November 16.

While reacting on behalf of the entire ward, the ward chairman, High Chief Ojo Arowojolu, appreciated Akinfe, for the leadership provided, saying, that if the Council Chairman, has been leading the ward to victory at every election, for more than two decades, this is a time to do more, having him as a sitting Council Chairman; and so, on behalf of the entire ward, declared 100% votes for Governor Aiyedatiwa, in the forthcoming Governorship poll.

Akinfe, thanked all the leaders and the entire ward, charged them to return to their units, mobilize aggressively for the Governor, whom he says, is from Ikale East, from the maternal side, and so, must be voted massively, even as more dividends, are on the way.

The Council Boss, then called the names of all the decampees from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who anchored their defection on the Chairman’s leadership style, Mr. Governor’s exploits and love, for the people of Ikale East Local Council Development Area, as well as the internal wrangling within their former party, as they were ably led by Hon. Joshua Olowu, and a retired Major in the Army, Major Folorunsho Akingboju, who officially identified with the party, at the ward level, as Hon. (Deacon) Olajide Akinfe handed to them, the symbol of the party, assuring them of equal treatment and dividends, with the existing members.

According to Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Aro Olorunyomi Victor, as a way of supporting the party, to ensure a hitch-free campaign exercise across the council areas,  Akinfe, presented campaign materials, including Megaphones through one of the Chieftains of the party, Stephen Akinmuda, to the wards’ Chairmen, charging them to make good use of it, in spreading Governor Aiyedatiwa’s gospel, across the nook and cranny of the council areas, while appreciating them, for their continued support.
