Veteran Nigerian actor Olu Jacobs who was initially reported to have passed away at the age of 82, is alive.
The report of his death led to widespread mourning and tributes across social media platforms.
President, Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, Nigerian columnist, Betty Irabor swiftly refuted reports about his passage.
News broke on social media, especially on X that the 82 year old actor passed away.

As at the time of this report, big accounts on social media had gathered millions of views on the post and have refused to take down their tweets.
Comedian, Brainjotter, Kemi Olounloyo were amongst celebrities who posted story of Jacobs demise and despite being told, they left the rumor to trend.
Irabor who took to social media wrote: “Olu Jacob is well and alive.. Please ignore all rumours of his passing.”

Rollas said: “It is not true. I spoke with his wife.”
A video released by his family later confirmed that he is alive, contradicting the earlier reports of his death.
The Veteran Nollywood actor and his wife, Joke Silva, have always been described as ‘Power Couples’ who have made many thespians and fans to gush and applaud them for how they have espoused good and worthy examples of celebrity couples.
