With Death Of Opps Tweet, Wizkid Takes Beef With Davido To Another Level

Nigerian singer and songwriter Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known professionally as Wizkid, seems to have resumed his beef with fellow singer David Adeleke, known popularly as Davido.

After a long break, Wizkid in October resumed his long-term rivalry with Davido.

In a series of tweets on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Wizkid stirred the pot while announcing the release of his first single for the year, making a direct jab at Davido.

The October tension escalated when an X user questioned Wizkid’s motive behind dissing Davido, tweeting, “So if you no beef @davido, your song won’t sell?”

Wizkid dismissed the accusation boldly, claiming he does not beef with “wack niggas” and taking a direct shot at Davido’s talent.

He went further, coining a new derogatory nickname for Davido, calling him “Frigodo” and stating that “Bingos got nothing on Starboy General till Infinity.”

The fight between the two music giants, which has seen highs and lows over the years, flared up again in recent months following a series of controversial tweets from Wizkid.

On Saturday, November 16, 2024, Wizkid tweeted: “2024! Death of the opps.

OPP” can commonly refer to “Opponent” or “Oppositions”. It is often used to describe someone or something that an individual is in opposition to or competing against. This slang term is frequently used in online conversations, texting, and platforms like TikTok, Twitter, and Instagram.
